Meet David Sklarew

My Journey

My path to becoming an energy healing practitioner grew naturally from my life-long inner journey of self-development. Growing up as a highly empathic and sensitive person, I lacked embodiment and didn’t have a very strong connection with my feelings, desires, or an empowered authentic voice. My boundaries were poorly defined and created difficulties in my relationships with people and to my spiritual life.

My world view expanded once a college friend introduced me to Tai Chi and eastern philosophy. I began to study deeply, exploring and redefining my sense of self, and more consciously choosing how I engaged with my life. I am an avid Qi Gong practitioner, and have studied with a variety of teachers, receiving a certification from Master Robert Peng.

More than 20 years ago, I found the self-development skills of the Energy Healing Institute. I’ve practiced the skills for many years, and have earned a certification as an Energy Healing Practitioner. I have also completed EHI’s Clairvoyance and Conscious Channeling courses.

The skills I teach clients have been fundamental to my embodiment and energy regulation. I’ve stepped into my power through appropriate boundary setting and energy clearing, and developed a sound relationship with my spirituality.

Other Influences & Passions

I have had the privilege of participating in various roles in a few spiritual communities that have facilitated my connection with myself, others, and divinity. I’ve spent five seasons at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in Rhinebeck, NY. The experience of working, living, and growing with a diverse group of consciously evolving people is a blessing, expanding my consciousness to broader life possibilities.

I've taught energy and embodiment classes at Omega, Easton Mountain, and Rowe Camp and Conference Center, sharing practices that have assisted me in returning to my body, finding my authenticity, stepping into my power, and acknowledging my divinity.

Music is a lifelong passion and a vehicle for self expression and improvisation – whether singing in the shower or making music with friends – it keeps me connected to my creativity and vitality. When I'm not working with clients, playing with friends, or connecting through music, you may find me walking through the woods at my local preserve. Being in nature continually reminds me of the interconnectedness of all living things.

Corporate Experience

Before choosing to devote my time and energy to working with clients, I served as a Lead IT Engineer and Solution Architect in corporate America. I developed strong analytical skills and cultivated my attention to detail, a complement to my intuitive abilities. I enjoyed mentoring opportunities within my organization and learned a great deal about leadership, guidance, and stewardship.
